DALLAS, TX — Easter is only days away, and families with children are surely on the prowl for the best Easter activities, including church gatherings, egg hunts and quality time with family.
Well, there’s good news on that front for Dallasites. A new study from WalletHub named Dallas among the nation’s top 15 metros for celebrating the holiday.
The study looked at 100 of the nation’s largest cities and compared them across the four dimensions of Easter Observers, Easter Traditions, Kids’ Easter (activities) and Easter Weather.
Dallas, which ranked No. 13 overall, grabbed a superlative ranking for having among the nation’s top five egg hunts. (Keep your eye out for an Easter Egg Hunt Roundup on Patch.)
Outdoor activities play a large role in Easter celebrations, and weather can make or break the holiday. According to the study residents in Plano, Garland, Arlington and Dallas should plan ahead for some dreary Easter weather.

Some Texas cities fell short of Easter expectations, however. The study placed El Paso among cities with the fewest egg hunts. Irving, meanwhile, landed among those with fewest candy shops and Garland fell near the bottom with fewest flower and gift shops.
